YYFP coalition is dedicated to providing the highest quality of fire education, awareness, and rehabilitative services to the community and is committed to reducing injury, death, and loss of property due to the misuse of fire by youths. We will accomplish this through networking with support agencies, counseling, educating, and enforcing practice that will rehabilitate offenders an educating family, friends, and the public.
The YYFP Coalition includes interventionist. This ensures we are responsive, adaptable, and provide services throughout Yakima County. The YYFP Coalition is diverse, multi-county, and works collaboratively across sectors to reach youth. To date, YYFP includes 40 coalition members and 33 interventionists.
The YYFP task force serves to guide and inform services, outreach, and scope of the YYFP organization. The task force includes educators, behavioral health, police, fire, social services, community partners and judicial service providers, business owners and community leaders.
Trained members work directly with youth and provide youth screening, intervention, and resource referrals. They meet with parents, family members or guardians to support their efforts to prevent fire setting behaviors. Interventionist offer fire safety education to schools, networks, coalitions, and the general community.
